The United Kingdom based sales agent Rapt Films International has officially acquired the international sales rights, outside of Australia and New Zealand, for director Gabriel Carrubba’s debut feature ‘Sunflower’, according to ScreenDaily.
The film made it’s premier last June at the Sydney Film Festival before venturing out to other Australian events such as Melbourne.
According to the official rundown: “In this affecting Melbourne-set queer drama, a teenager’s coming of age is complicated by an unexpected sexual awakening.”
Rapt Films International launched earlier this year, and was set up by former SC Films and Blue Finch executive Russell Webber.
Rapt Films International’s CEO Webber described Carrubba as “an exciting new voice with fresh insight into the universal teenage experience of finding your place in the world.”
